How do I renew my Colorado nursing license?

The certificate of a registered nurse expires every two years on September 30 of either odd-numbered or even-numbered years, depending on when it was issued. In this state, there is no requirement for continuing education to renew your RN license.

How to renew your license?

The following is a step-by-step guide to renewing your license online:

  • Go to the renewal page by clicking here
  • Read the entire renewal page’s details before clicking the “Online Services” link at the bottom of the page
  • If you have created an online account since July 1, 2012, click “Log In,” otherwise click the “Register” link to register yourself
  • Enter your User ID and password to log in
  • If you’ve signed in, you’ll see a list of all the licenses you own. On the left side of the page, click the “Complete License Renewal” link (under Renewal Activities).
  • Select the “Start” link next to the license you want to renew. A series of prompts will appear on the screen as a result of this. Fill in all of the necessary fields.
  • Click the “Proceed to Payment” button after entering all of the requested details.
  • An invoice will be displayed on the screen. If you need to renew more than one license, go to the left menu and select ” Complete
  • License Renewal.” If you want to pay, go to the upper right-hand corner and press “Pay Invoice.”
  • You’ll be taken to the Colorado Payment Portal after clicking the “Pay Invoice” page, where you’ll have to choose between paying by electronic check or credit card.
  • If you’ve sent the payment, you’ll see an approval screen. On the left side, click “Current Information” to see the updated expiration date. Click “Print Receipt” to print a hard copy of the receipt.
